Virgin Megastore in Manhattan’s Union Square getting location sold out under them

Virgin To Exit Manhattan's Union Square?

The Virgin Megastore’s space in Manhattan’s Union Square is being offered by a real estate broker for 2009 availability. According to retail sources, New York-based Winick Realty is shopping the space and has sent out packages highlighting its features.

The 58,000 square-foot store, with 30,000 on one floor and 28,000 on another, is being offered in total, although the package adds that subdivisions might also be considered.

Virgin Entertainment Group executives were unavailable to comment so its unclear if the company plans to move its downtown location to another space, or if it will shutter the store altogether. Winick Realty executives were unavailable to comment.
