Janet Jackson has #1 selling album with almost no sales

It's REALLY sad that a #1 selling album in the U.S. can reach that plateau mark with the estimated sales that was sold for this week's chart-topper. Janet Jackson's new album, Discipline, sells approxiamtely 178,000 copies and makes it to #1.

Ten years ago, sales like that would not even crack the Top 100.

More people in Ohio voted for Mike Huckabee this evening than that.

More people live in Des Moines, Iowa.

President Bush lied more times than that.

Gene Simmons slept with more woman than that.

That's only around 3560 copies per each of the 50 states.

That also means, for every one person you know who bought Janet's new CD, you will need to pass by another 1700 people until you find the next person who bought that album.

Congrats to Janet, but really sad situation for the music industry.
