Adele Laurie Blue Adkins is an English Soul/Jazz singer from Tottenham, London. She is currently signed to independent music label XL Recordings. At the moment, Adele plays small gigs in venues all over Britain and has so far released only one limited-release single. She has become quite popular on MySpace where you can hear her songs such as Daydreamer, Best For Last, Hometown Glory and Crazy For You. She has already performed Daydreamer on Later With Jools Holland, alongside Paul McCartney and Bjork.
"Hometown Glory", described as a "traffic stopper" in which Adele sings the praises of Tottenham, London, was released on 22 October 2007 as a limited edition 7" vinyl on Jamie T's label Pacemaker Recordings, with B Side 'Best For Last'; plans for general release are unavailable at present.
January 2008 sees the release of 'Chasing Pavements' Adele's second single, which will be released on XL.
Adele went on her first UK Headlining Tour in October, starting in Southampton on the sixth and finishing in London on the twentieth. All nine dates sold out in less than a month. Adele has previously toured with best friend Jack Penate, as well as Jamie T, Raul Midon, Devendra Banhart, Amos Lee and Keren Ann since summer 2006.

Adele appeared on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross on December 7 2007, singing her new single "Chasing Pavements". Other guests included Jerry Seinfeld, Rene Zellweger plus David Walliams and Matt Lucas of Little Britain.
On December 10, 2007, Adele was awarded with the first Brit Awards Critics’ Choice prize and was dubbed the 'new Amy Winehouse'.
